Susanville,CA: Hello everybody! Today our circus welcomed a different bunch of volunteers. They were a little taller than usual (we had a 6 foot tall lion!), but just as much enthusiastic as the younger kids. Actually I have to say it: the teenagers that participated in our show were euphoric! It’s funny that the age range 14-17 is divided into “we are too old for this…” and “OMG! Let’s get dressed up!” Everyone is welcome at Circus Imagination it doesn’t matter how old, how young or where you come from as long as you are willing to let go of reality and jump into imagination land with us!
We also had a family come tell us today that they call the spot our circus sits at the fair the Imagination Station. They have been coming to our show for the past five years and after every fair they come home to create their own backyard circus! We love to hear those stories because that makes us feel our message is getting across: Play outside! Use your imagination! Allow yourself to have fun! Be creative!
Thank you to all the talented kids and chaotic teenagers that joined our show today! You guys are the real stars! Check out some pictures below!

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” – Dr. Seuss

Susanville, CA: Hello everybody! It’s a beautiful summer day here at the 2011 Lassen County Fair! Circus Imagination’s first show of the day was at NOON and we featured the great 8 year-old performer Amanda, from Salton City, CA in not only one, but two parts: Tina the Tight Rope Walker and Calamity Oakley the Cowgirl – Check out her picture below! – The circus also had the amazing Zazel the Human Cannon Ball who startled the audience with his courage and dare-devilness!
The second show of the day at 2 PM had about 7 kids and 2 acts, Tina the Tight Rope Walker and the corageous Lion Tamer with his troop of monkeys, lions and clown gorilla! – Check out the picture below! After the show we had an hour of free face painting under the circus tent! Lots of red hearts, shooting stars, spiders and even some red flame eyes… The kids definetly use their imaginations on the requests of what they want me to paint on them: “Can you make like red flames around my eyes, highlihted in blue and chains going around a skull in my forehead and crossbones and tribals on my arm?” –
11 year-old Stephen asked humbly…
Last show of the day was at 5 PM and it was a busy one! We ask kids to show us big smiles to get picked to be in the circus, because we believe raising your hand up is for school! Check out some of those adorable smiles on the picture below! We had sixteen volunteers in the show and the following acts: Tina the Tight Rope Walker, Butterfly Ballerinas and Clarence the Clown, Cowboy, Champagne Sisters and the Human Cannon Ball!
Well that’s it for today folks!
See you tomorrow at the 2011 Lassen County Fair!
Susanville, CA: Hello ladies and jellybeans! Circus Imagination is happy to be back here at the 2011 Lassen County Fair! The fair is located at 195 Russell Avenue Susanville, CA 96130-4215 and it’s open every day until next Sunday!
The fair opened yesterday and we had three shows: NOON, 2PM & 5PM. On the first show we had a 6 year-old cowboy who made our days! He was full of spirit and wit, just like a cowboy should be! The second show had Tina the Tight Rope Walker, a very energetic Lion Tamer and his ferocious lions, tigers and bears! We also featured the amazing Champagne Sisters from Paris, France – check them out on the picture below – and the almost unbelievable Human Cannon ball! The third show was one of those funny ones… with a couple 4 year-old safety advisors running by the stage here and then!
Today we had three more shows! The first one at NOON started a little slow, I guess we can blame it on the heat, and on the fact that we cleared out our audience when all the kids sitting there volunteered to join the show! The second show of the day was at 2 PM and it was quite busy, we had the greatly talented 3 year-old Animal Trainer with his odd group of wild lions, monkeys and laughing elephants – check them out on the picture below! We also had Calamity Oakley the Cowgirls doing her amazing whip tricks, Champagne Sisters and our famous circus dare-devil Zazel the Human Cannon Ball!
The third show of the day at 5 PM was awesome and full of bouncy kids! We had Tina the Tight Rope Walker, Wild Animal Trainer and his clown gorilla and lions, Champagne Sisters, and for the first time at the 2011 Lassen County Fair the magical Butterfly Ballerinas and the daring Zazel the human Cannon Ball!
